Worked example

On a $1,000,000 purchase with 10% down, the estimated loan is $900,000 before fees and other closing adjustments.

Methodology

How this calculation works

The tool subtracts the entered equity percentage from purchase price, then amortizes the resulting estimated loan with level monthly principal-and-interest payments. It is a financing scenario—not an eligibility, guaranty, fee, or credit decision. SBA programs are delivered through participating lenders and program terms vary.

How to interpret the result

The displayed equity and payment are starting assumptions. Confirm eligible uses, borrower injection, guaranty fees, lender fees, collateral, variable-rate mechanics, maturity, and repayment ability with an SBA lender. SBA states that most 7(a) term loans are repaid monthly from business cash flow.

Limitations

Results are educational planning estimates. They do not include every tax, legal, accounting, financing, or business-specific consideration and are not professional advice.

SBA Loan Calculator FAQ

Is a 10% SBA down payment guaranteed?

No. Equity requirements depend on the program, lender, borrower, transaction, and current rules. The percentage is an editable planning assumption.

Are SBA guarantee fees included?

No. Confirm current fees and eligible financing costs with the lender.

How is SBA Loan calculated?

This is a planning model, not an eligibility decision. It applies user-entered terms to a conventional amortization schedule and excludes guarantee fees and lender-specific closing costs.

How should I interpret the result?

Confirm the resulting payment, equity injection, fees, collateral, and eligibility directly with an SBA lender.

Does SBA lend this money directly?

Generally no. Participating lenders originate 7(a) loans and SBA provides a guaranty subject to program requirements.

Is a 10% down payment guaranteed?

No. Required equity depends on the program, transaction, lender, borrower, and current rules. Treat the percentage as an editable scenario.

Are guaranty and closing fees financed?

This calculator excludes them. Eligibility and financing of fees vary, so obtain a lender sources-and-uses schedule.

Can the rate change?

Yes, some SBA loans use variable rates. A variable rate can change the required payment, so test a higher-rate case.
